The Bottom Line—How Do We Pay For This?
A two-week school-day program costs
about $4000 and provides an instructor, equipment rental, and liability
insurance for up to $2 million through the USFA. We can teach up to six 45
minute single-class sessions in a day, or simply take over your P.E.
schedule for one teacher.
The program may be paid for with:
- Title II funds, which are designated for teacher development.
- Many companies are glad to provide sponsorship for an activity which
is out of the ordinary.
- An optional in-school field trip fee. Asking for a monetary donation
often gets good results, and many parents will offer to sponsor other
students.
- SIP funds at staff discretion.
Our program is built for
students 4th grade and up. This program may also be made available as a
pull-out session for GATE students using GATE funds.
We provide
the equipment and instruction, you provide the space. We use an indoor
gymnasium or multi-purpose room with a minimum of 10’ high ceilings, free
of obstacle or trip hazards, with a dry floor that has good
traction.
